Majid is both a great guitarist and a very good teacher. He has helped me with his accurate technical instructions about sound, execution, articulation and dinamics. He discovered some unknown flamenco tunes for me too. His english is pretty fluent and he has the patience to really help students archieving our personal musical goals, and he is a great guy too. Gracias maestro!

I have had the honor of being a student of Master Majid online for over three years now. I am truly happy and I believe one of the good things in my life has been getting to know him. Without a doubt, he is one of the best flamenco guitarists. In addition to being a professional musician, he is also a very experienced, patient, and kind teacher. What I have seen from him during this time is his great sensitivity and attention to detail in every lesson, which has a significant impact on my playing. After teaching each lesson, he sends a video of the new lesson. Even after class, if I have any questions, he takes the time to respond patiently every time. I am very satisfied with my classes, and my motivation has increased so much that my classes have become a priority over other activities. I believe that if he hadn’t been my teacher up until now, I might not have continued this far. I am very grateful to him. ❤️ 👌

Frequently Asked Questions

What level do I need to be at to start?

Our courses are structured to welcome all levels:

Absolute Beginner: Start here if you’re new to guitar. We’ll teach you the basics of posture, hand positioning, and the fundamental rhythms (compás) of Flamenco.

Beginner Guitarist (but new to Flamenco): If you can play basic chords and strum other styles (like pop or folk), you can jump into our introductory Flamenco courses to learn the unique techniques and palos (styles).

Intermediate/Advanced Flamenco Students: Already familiar with soleá or bulerías? Our higher-level courses focus on complex falsetas, improvisation, ornamentation, and the nuances of different traditional styles.

Do I need to know how to read music or know music theory to start?

Flamenco is traditionally an aural and rhythmic tradition, often learned by ear and feel. Our beginner courses are designed to teach you the essential techniques and rhythms (compás) without requiring you to read standard sheet music. We use Tablature (TAB) and fretboard diagrams which are much easier to learn and understand, so you can focus on playing and feeling the music from the very first lesson. After a while we’ll add music theory to the lessons.

How much practice time should I expect to dedicate?

The ideal practice time depends on your goals, but here’s a reliable guideline:

For Steady Progress: Aim for at least 30 minutes, 4-5 days per week. This allows you to consistently work on techniques, review material, and see tangible improvement each month.

For the Committed Student: If you can dedicate 45-60 minutes a day, 5-6 days a week, you will be able to progress through the material more quickly and tackle more complex techniques.

The Key is Quality: Focused, distraction-free practice where you work on specific exercises (e.g., 10 mins on rasgueado, 10 mins on a falseta, 10 mins on compás) is vastly more effective than unfocused strumming for an hour.

Remember, a little bit often is the secret to mastering Flamenco guitar.

Do I need a special guitar to learn flamenco?

You can start learning immediately on any classical guitar you have. While a dedicated flamenco guitar has a distinct sound and feel (lighter build, lower action, and a tapping plate), it is not a requirement to begin. The most important thing is to start learning the techniques and rhythms. You can always upgrade to a flamenco-specific guitar later as your passion and skills grow.

How is learning flamenco different from learning regular acoustic or classical guitar?

Flamenco is a complete musical language! While other styles often focus on chords and melody, flamenco integrates rhythm (compás), emotion (duende), and technique into a powerful, expressive whole from day one. You’re not just learning songs; you’re learning to speak a passionate, rhythmic dialect of music.
